Mario René Espósito
Multimedia web developer and designer currently based in Barcelona. I was borned and raised in Guatemala, although I come from an Italian family. I grew up in a hard working family from whom I have learned strong personal values and it has defined me to become a person in seek of constant growth and open to learn every day giving the best in every project.
I have a Bachellor degree in Arts from Universidad Rafael Landivar. I decided to become a professional in multimedia and graphic design because I have always been passionate about motion and interactive experiences. Starting to work at an early age in a family business in the interactive industry. Since Flash early versions, while studying my carreer I self studied Flash and Web developement to go beyond the limits of the academic program and to be able to solve real life challenges working with different projects and clients.
The expertise I acquaired allowed me to later on share the knowledge teaching students at Universidad Rafael Landivar on several courses such as Flash I (Animation), Flash II (Interaction), Dreamweaver and After Effects. At he same time I founded my self company where I worked as a full time developer Medio Interactivo , due to the projects I developed I was able to work with clients such as Microsoft Guatemala, SAP, Metrotech and Pepsico among others. During this time I was able to participate in several projects with top level agencies such as Saatchi & Saatchi, Grey, Ogilvy, and BBDO developing RIAs, Flash mini-sites, Facebook Apps and custom online platforms built mainly in LAMP.
I came to Barcelona to broaden up my expertise and find new challenges in the european market. I'm currently the Technology Director at María Barcelona, an online communication agency working with clients such as Knorr (Unilever), Lindt, Catalunya Caixa, Gerble, Danone and Pierre Fabre among others.
This experience has let me have an active participation in the creation of online communication strategies, working together with Creative Directors to define the strategic concept for projects, adding value on the technical implementation, and offering creative solutions for technology issues and the selection of online channels based on latest trends to achieve the campaign objectives. I am also in charge of defining the guidelines for the project production starting from the wireframes to defining the steps for the implementation on the distribution channels, defining time tables to integrate and manage the multiple projects workflow with both design and programming teams. Along with the team management I am the link with clients and technical third parties around the world to solve technical enquiries during the project implementation.
After my first year in Barcelona I went back to teaching, this time as the New Media course Professor at Instituto Europeo di Design (IED Barcelona). Where I currently share expertise with both students and professors in the creative community.
Always in search of new challenges, to be inspired and to do what I love.
